Woglo Is Not A Search Engine

Woglo is a database driven network of websites. Our content is easy to filter and sort. You can use navigational trees and drop down menus to find exactly what you want. If you want to use a search engine, you can do a google search right from your community home page. Woglo founders, just like you, are tired of in-your-face pop-up ads. You won't encounter any of these on the Woglo network.

Why is it so hard to find local products and services with search engines?

Search engine optimization (SEO) is very expensive. So are the search engine pay-by-click advertisements. Most small businesses can't afford this type of high-cost advertising. Do businesses you locate online with search engines offer the best prices or service? Probably not, because they have to pass the cost of their internet advertising on to you, the consumer.

Woglo provides an affordable way for small businesses to reach people in their local neighborhoods via the internet. We're non-profit, we're here to benefit the community and small businesses. We want to level the playing field so small businesses can have some of the benefits enjoyed by larger corporations. And we want to create a comfortable and safe environment for internet users to locate local businesses and information.

Why is Woglo different than a search engine?

How often have you searched for information in Google or Yahoo and the links on the first page of the search results are just websites with affiliate advertisements? The trend towards pay-by-click is the cause for this too. A whole industry of affiliate advertisement publishers has evolved from this trend.

Woglo also publishes Google and Yahoo ads, but we try to do it in a tasteful way. We offer rich content not just advertiser links. We also provide a venue for you to locate local small businesses. Each business member has a community introduction page where the business owner can introduce him/herself to you and tell you about their business. Our small business members help bring this network to you. Please support them.
